Yoga

Yoga is 5000 years old, hence it's called an ancient wisdom.

Yoga for everybody

It provides mental clarity, a blueprint for life being formed.

Yoga and meditation are core habits that must be built in so that it becomes a habit that serves you and possibly takes the place of a not-so-good or high-energy habit.

Yoga is a powerful way to become physically and mentally balanced.

Yoga also means connection and is so much more than just a sequence of postures (Asanas).

The body and mind belong together and cannot be separated although medicine used to think so.

A great myth is also dispelled: Yoga does not require flexibility, the postures are a small part of the whole.

It's about function and not form, remember that when you practice Yoga.

Yoga improves bone density and makes the body stronger, balances the nervous system, gives more space, breath is better distributed and cleanses the body, stimulates your circulation and detoxifies (cleanses).

It gives a positive effect on the hormone system and, of course, the autonomic nervous system.

When our autonomic nervous system gets the signal to come to rest, a deeper rest and relaxation is obtained which emotionally improves our state of mind, we feel safe and there is space for thoughts that come and go.

The power of meditation lies in the state of being there in the here and now without straying into the past or the future.

It allows for greater acceptance and inner peace as humanity continually seeks to fulfill higher and better goals and never achieves ultimate satisfaction by chasing these ever-increasing goals for life.

Meditation does slowing down, looking in the here and now with what is present in your life and being content with what is present, expressing gratitude is also a good practice for this.

Invest 1% to make the other 99% better: It's about getting better at living.

Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga is all about relaxing and works like a warm bath for your body.

On the mat there are blankets and pillows ready to support your body while you do gentle poses.

This form of yoga promotes deep physical and mental recovery. It helps release stress and tension present in your body and also on an emotional level. It helps stimulate a sense of inner peace and acceptance.

This form of Yoga can be applied to POTS patients who have weak to moderate (but also fine) symptom stability.

Yin Yoga practice

The yoga form Yin Yoga is a calm and meditative journey through the body with calm flowing movements.

Each Asana (Yoga posture/pose) is held for about 2 to 5 minutes and works on the deeper tissues of the body, such as joints, connective tissues and is activated by bringing them to stretch (stretch).

This form of Yoga can be applied to POTS patients who have average to good symptom stability.

The Yoga practice usually begins with a meditation (moment of reflection) started and is always concluded by the Shavasana Asana so that the session can be quietly absorbed by the mind and body (after-feeling) and left for a while.

The 7 energy points in the body which are crucial for the quality of life

The deference between Restorative Yoga and Yin Yoga

Both focus on relaxation and recovery.

Yin Yoga focuses on stretching deeper tissues and increasing flexibility.

Restorative yoga, on the other hand, is all about total relaxation and supporting the body in passive poses (where you stay in the same pose for 2-5 minutes, stimulating the connective tissues and meridians in your body).

I cannot stress hard enough how beneficial yoga is for people who also suffer from (c)PTSD and anxiety disorders, high sensitive persons, and really anyone would benefit tremendously!
